These grants&nbsp; are available to support farmers and regional communities to improve the protection and productive capacity of our soils, water and vegetation and to improve biodiversity.<br /><br />Feral animals can cause have a detrimental impact on the nevironemnt through soil degradation ,such as erosion, reduced water quality and affect our biodiversity througb destruction of habitat of native fauna. Government agencies, land managers and others met to explore issues around flying-fox management and conservation.<br /><br />&#8203;Updates were delivered by state environment departments from Queensland, NSW, Victoria and South Australia as well as a national update delivered by Ross Rowe from Department of Environment and Energy. Dr David Westcott from CSIRO provided a progress report on the Flying-fox ecology and managing human-flying-fox conflict&#8203; project. Further topics and discussions centred around managing community perceptions of flying-fox camp management, education to mitigate human/flying-fox conflict and other current research.</div>  <div><div style="height: 20px;
