Training & Development

Our wildlife and feral animal management programs include implementation of management and/or control activities. In many cases the management action is delivered by Wild Science, however, landholders may elect to conduct some elements of the management program with their own in house staff or rangers.

We offer tailored & structured training workshops for participants where landholders want to more actively participate in the ongoing management of overabundant native species or feral animals. Topics include monitoring and data collection, animal behaviour, trap construction, use of specialized equipment and selected management techniques. Additional topics can be included depending on the skill level of participants, industry sector, target species being managed, site location and client requirements.

Our Services
  • workshops for landholders, ranger groups & site personnel
  • training in monitoring techniques & data collection
  • skill development in trap construction, maintenance & installation
  • training in animal behaviour & management techniques
  • guidance in care and use of specialised equipment
  • development of training materials & manuals
  • flexible delivery of workshops in urban, rural & remote locations
Educational programs to help local rangers read and interpret maps to better feral pig trapping
Consulting with indigenous rangers on high value areas as part of the wildlife management planning process.

Extended Client Support

We take time to consult extensively with landholders to establish the desired outcomes of each management program and to clearly understand the actual problem.

We can review past or existing programs and previous assessments or survey reports as a starting point for an ongoing management program.

If you are seeking grant funding for your management program please call us first to discuss the proposed program. We may be able to direct you to currently available grant funding.

Our Services
  • estimate of projected program costs
  • assistance with grant applications & funding submissions
  • evaluate estimated increases in productivity/product quality in agricultural systems resulting from a reduction in pest animal population (eg. mango production, cattle stocking rates, etc.)
